Project Overview
ModPublic is a movement, not simply a business. They work to “actively break down the financial barriers to homeownership” by “lowering construction costs through digital manufacturing and robotic construction.” They work with communities to make sure they are meeting local needs and building homes people there actually want to live in.
Inspired by activist imagery and bold language, the graphics literally make space and break barriers for the viewer to see people who will live in ModPublic homes. ModPublic embraces that life can be unpredictable, but they also provide order and stability. They are adaptable: they stretch, bend, and break the rules of the housing market to make it work better for you. Both the logo and the language systems are flexible to nod to ModPublic’s rebellious nature, yet they are also solid and dependable.
Project Goals
To create a brand that ignites and excites the user to want to create change with ModPublic, and that the task at hand feels achievable and realistic
To create a brand identity that will appeal to dweller first, but also considers current and future partners, builders, and funders
The brand must challenge traditional notions of housing while remaining familiar to potential home-owners
The brand should not feel authoritative or like an outsider coming in to solve problems, but rather as a inclusive guide, educator, and friend
